‘Tis the Season to Celebrate

T’is the season to celebrate the Son of God, who came to earth as a human. The King of kings humbled Himself for you and me. As we celebrate the birth of a King, I’m impacted with the example of humility that He set for us.

If the Mighty God can become a helpless human baby, born in a lowly manger, why is it sometimes so hard for me to humble myself? All that I am and have is dependent on Him. This Christmas I am humbled by God’s love, that He gave such a gift for me.

I pray that you have a glorious Christmas, filled with the love of God and fellowship with those you love.

“And [Mary] gave birth to her first-born son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

“And in the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields, and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.

“And the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths, and lying in a manger’” (Luke 2:7-12).

“And being found in appearance as a man, [Jesus] humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phil. 2:8-11).
